Marshall graduated in 1983 from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Finance.
He spent the first ten years of his professional career working in the Home Building industry where he gained an invaluable education in real estate through the various positions he held in Construction Oversight, Project Management and Land Acquisition. Marshall also holds a Real Estate Brokers License in the State of California.
In 1993, Marshall turned to a career in Finance and began working for Shearson Lehman Brothers, which was purchased by SmithBarney later that year. During his tenure, Marshall was consistently ranked one of the top advisors amongst his peers. In 1996 he moved to PaineWebber which was purchased by UBS Financial Services, Inc in 2000. He would spend the next 12 years here and eventually be named a Senior Vice President-Investments and a member of the prestigious Presidents Club.

When not working, Marshall is an avid mountain and road bike rider. In the winter months, he enjoys snow skiing and has served as a Ski Patroller with the National Ski Patrol, an organization that provides first aid to injured snow skiers and snowboarders. He has been an active member of the Laguna Art Museum where he served as Treasurer from 2009 until 2012 and a member of the Board of Trustees for the Laguna College of Art and Design. He has also volunteered with the Boy Scouts of America where he has served as Den Leader, Pack Committee Chair, Troop Committee Member and Assistant Scout Leader.
